You Say You Care…a poem for the American Right

As we watch the women’s right to choose being hauled backwards by the Christian Right Minority in this nation, we hear a familiar cry. “I am pro-life because I care about the children to come.” (They also use this “save the children” rallying cry to justify their QAnon insanity…it’s not a coincidence.) I have heard this for most of my life but there’s a paradox here that exposes those words to be little more than a marketing slogan that makes them feel better…about themselves. All I can think is, “no, no you don’t care.”
